I got my results back for my retest for celiac a few weeks ago. And I was shocked when it came back negative.

I was sure, SURE, it would be positive and that I was going to be back on the gluten free train. I was ready. But, crazily enough, it came back negative. So being gluten free will never be something I need to worry about again. Turns out, all the problems I was having really were all linked to my gall bladder and have since been eradicated since the little bugger's removal in 2012.

I do breathe a bit of a sigh of relief that I do not need to worry that either of my kids will have celiac. They were my motivating factor to get retested. Not that being gluten free is the end of the world, but I dreaded them having to go through all the sickness that inevitably comes with living gluten free in a gluten-filled world.

I'm not sure what will happen to the old blog, here. I might change her into just a personal blog. A lot has changed for me in the past few years of blog-silence. I went back to work. I moved out of state. I became a stay at home mom again. I had a second child (another boy!) I went back to school. Things are crazy. But they are crazy in the best way possible.

If you tested positive for Celiac the first time, then you have Celiac Disease. In most cases if you are eating a steady gluten-free diet for a long period of time then the retest will come out negative. That doesn't mean you don't have Celiac Disease. And that doesn't mean you should add gluten back to you diet.
